 We have a vacancy for an Assistant Manager at our Bicester Branch

This is a key role in assisting with the day to day management of the branch.  Working with your Branch Manager and Area Managers to continually improve the sales and margin within the branch, whilst developing a driven team and outstanding customer service.

 The Role

 You will manage an effective Plumbing and Heating branch, whilst leading in the absence of the Branch Manager.

You will demonstrate a strong working knowledge of plumbing & heating and bathroom products.

You will be responsible for customer accounts, providing quotations and product pricing.

You will maintain a strong working relationship with customers and suppliers, upholding our high standards.

You will take pride in keeping a tidy, well stocked and displayed branch

You will be responsible for supporting and developing junior members of the team in delivering “top notch” customer service.

You will take on any Ad hoc administration duties as and when required or, in the absence of the Branch Manager.


The successful applicant will have previous experience within the plumbing merchants industry.

We are looking for someone who is ready to take the next step in their management career but this candidate must have the ability of demonstrate proven leadership skills in a competitive sector.

Excellent communication and administration skills are essential.  Full training will be provided.

Hours of Work

Monday - Friday 7.30am - 5.00pm

Alternate Saturdays 8.30am - 12pm

We are looking to appoint a Bathroom Showroom Manager at our Carterton Branch (OX18 3FN)

Creating the ideal bathroom for a customer requires creativity and the ability to bring that dream to reality.  Whether it be a small single project to a large scale renovation as the showroom manager, you will be the expert that delivers an “A rated” service that goes above and beyond the expectations of both trade and general customers.

At UKPS we pride ourselves on our customer service, which is why we are looking for someone who shares our drive and high standards to achieve the only the best.

Previous industry knowledge is not essential for this role, as long as you have the ambition to take ownership of your own success, we will provide you with the necessary training to succeed.

 The Role

Day to day you’ll be the proud leader of the showroom, which holds over 20 full bathroom displays.  You will have the experience and knowledge to drive the sales, maximising performance whilst ensuring the customer walks away happy.

You will keep up to date with the latest products, offers whilst liaising with our suppliers to ensure we remain competitive.

You will lead the showroom effectively, whilst looking for opportunities to enhance sales and the customer experience in the branch.

You will be confident using the UKPS systems to ensure product, pricing and quotations are correct.  (Full training will be given.)

You will be responsible for managing any showroom administration, helping the trade counter during busier periods and any ad hoc duties under the Branch Manager.

We are looking for a confident team player, with a “can do” attitude, who is not afraid of a challenge.  Full training and support will be provided as you make your mark in this role.

Option 1 - Monday to Friday 9am-5pm and Saturdays 8am -12pm

At UKPS we are looking for our next PCM (Branch Manager) to join our Carterton branch (OX18 3FN), the newest branch in our family.

As a successful PCM you will be the driving force behind a small team whilst coordinating all aspects of branch operations.

You Will Be Responsible For

The candidate must have appropriate knowledge on the range of products within the P&H industry and ideally have experience of dealing with suppliers across the product groups.

We are currently seeking a professional, experienced Area Sales Manager to join our trade sales team.  

The UKPS head office is based in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire and currently employees circa 40 personnel.  We are a hardworking and friendly team with the shared ambition to continuously expand.  

The successful candidate will be a highly driven individual with a proven track record in Sales and Business Development.  This field-based role will ideally need the candidate to live in the Oxfordshire area, be of smart appearance and own a driving licence as travelling will be essential to this role. They will be switched on, down to earth and friendly, with the ability to engage with customers to achieve the company’s strategy to grow sales.

Main Responsibilities of the Role

Maintain and increase sales of company products.

Reach the targets and goals set for your area.

Establish, maintain and expand the customer base in your area.

Continually expanding product portfolios with existing customers.

Promote any new products to meet company sales expectations.

Fully utilising the INTACT system (training will be provided) with regards to orders and quotes, reporting relevant information to the appropriate department.

Plan customer visits effectively on a formulated journey plan.

Service the needs of your existing customer.

Collect customer feedback and liaise all relevant information back to the Regional Sales Manager.

Work alongside the Profit Centre Managers on any key leads.

Prepare activity reports and findings and present to the management team as and when required.

Essential Skills 

Prepare and manage price quotations for customers until finalisation of the deal.

Advise and build customer loyalty.

Strong negotiation skills.

Listening and questions skills

Field Sales Experience would be preferable.

Business meeting preparation.

Must have experience within the plumbing and heating industry.

Salary £34k (depending on experience)
